I discovered Direct Dial due to the review here on PriceCanada while shopping for a Wacom Intuos 6x8 USB tablet. My wife is a very busy graphic artist and I had bought one of these 13 months earlier from an on-line competitor but after a cappuchino spill, a new one was desperatly needed. BTW, the competitor no longer stocks this item so a new supplier was needed. Because of the review here, I decided to order from Direct Dial dot com. Prices were not the lowest, but I would rather pay a bit more for service, selection and reliable delivery.
We placed our order at 1030 am and we were surprised by the doorbell ringing at 7 am the next morning. The Purolater driver had the perfectly packed box containing the Intuos. We live on Vancouver Island, so this 20 or so hour turnaround is all the more impressive due to transportation considerations (ferries, etc...). The item arrived before our tracking number!
Thank you Direct Dial, you now have our business!

I ordered a UPS and a spare battery a few months back from DirectDial. They tend to be heavy, so it accounts for most of the nearly $50 shipping cost by Purolator. The order was placed on a Friday and shipped on Tuesday by regular ground shipping. Some patch cables were back ordered so they were shipped 3 days later at DirectDial's expense. Including shipping, however, they were competitive to other vendors, and it was easily to tell what was in stock and at which warehouse. A screen summary can be printed at the time of your order, and a PDF invoice is sent by e-mail.
DirectDial has a great selection of hardware and software, but sometimes their pictures are unavailable and even descriptions of products are missing at times, requiring guessing or calling/e-mailing a service rep. Their prices are competitive, but not always the lowest, and they tend to have stock when others have sold out.
If you do not meet a minimum purchase ($100) there is an added charge, so do not expect to purchase single low-ticket items cheaply. On an earlier purchase I added some other products I needed to get above the minimum (which is probably what they want, I imagine).
If you make a few orders, expect a rep to e-mail/call you to establish a vendor/client relationship.
